Got my job back
I’m sure most of you know already, but last month I managed to get my job back. I talked to my manager and he’s helping me improve on some issues, nothing major but still important. I just wanted to share the news. The really good news I haven’t told anyone yet is that as of this month, nearly 2 weeks ago, I’m back full time again and happy about it.
Wish me luck all!
more underhanded deals!
SOPA was beaten…. but it's apparently an empty victory. Media companies are bragging about deals they've made with many major isp companies in the usa to restrict net access of any user suspected of copyright infringement even with no legal backing to do so. SOPA was beaten but they are going to filter the internet anyway! According to their announcement, anyone suspected of copyright infringement will have their internet access limited, blocking a very big portion of the net from them. There need not be any facts or legal accusations for this to be done, they are just simply taking the law into their own hands. It's turning into a witch hunt to stop piracy and innocent people are going to have internet access reduced just simply cause the isp SUSPECTS you might be pirating. these days with as many websites also host ad companies for extra money, you could visit your favorite anime news feed, have an add on the page that links to a website with pirate internet, then loose access to most of the web as punishment.
This is not only illegal but it's immoral and wrong. so far media companies have been beaten at every turn with every bill they try to offer, and now they have decided to skip the law, take matters into their own hands, and make underhanded deals with isp's to punish people they suspect might be breaking the law, in effect acting as judge and jury with no trial.
I don't often endorse these web ballads and such but this one deserves attention. head over to the folks at demand progress to sign their petition.
I will paste a copy of their email below with hyperlinks
They're selling us out. Just weeks after Internet users from across the globe came together to to beat SOPA, the major ISPs are cutting a deal with Big Content to restrict web access for users who are accused of piracy.
It'll do much of the dirty work we were able to prevent when we took down SOPA, this time by restricting certain Americans' access to the WHOLE Internet.
The details are fuzzy, but the head of the Recording Industry Association of America's bragged this week that ISPs will start policing copyright by July of this year.
Here's RT's take on the proposal:
"Some of the biggest Internet service providers in America plan to adopt policies that will punish customers for copyright infringement, and one of the top trade groups in the music biz announced this week that it could begin as soon as this summer....
"RIAA CEO Cary Sherman was one of the guest speakers among a New York panel this week and he confirmed that, at this rate, some of the most powerful Internet providers in America should have their new policies on the books by July 12, 2012."
The ISPs are poised to start treating their customers like criminals, restricting their access to the Internet.
And they're cutting us off at the knees just ast we've begun to force a new conversation about Internet freedom and copyright law.

Sick Family and Friends
Last couple of days have been filled with mostly bad news. First my girlfriends grandfather was put in hospital and it ruined my valentines plans for her which included going out to a dance dressed up in my best. It's ok though cause family is more important sometimes, I'm just glad her grandfather is going to be ok. We spent most of the day at the hospital with him.
Second problem, last night my mom called and she's hurt her back again. She's barely able to walk and as an employee of the state prison system she's obviously unable to go to work. I hope she recovers fast cause mom can't offord to go without work for long. At least she has a really good insurance policy that will cover her living expenses for 6 months, and she has a lot of leave time on the books.
new group added!
Another group has been added to our releases channel, http://shikkakufansubs.com/ from now on their releases will be automatically mirrored here to help both them and us. it should help drive more people to their releases and with any luck bring more people here too.
right now we're one of the only websites that gathers releases from other groups into a single channel [soon to have an rss feed for it too!] to make them easier to find. If you guys want to know what's out, currently we list all the latest release news from ayako, OZC Anime Releases, and now Shikkaku fan subs. just watch [and soon subscribe] to the releases page to see what's out. It automatically updates once every 2 hours.
My goal by doing this is to help take a bit of the load off of some websites by having a mirror here of the feed, second keeping it all in a single feed so there's less hunting and so on. this should also help drive people to those sites to help out, and hopefully bring us some too ![]()
if any other communities want their feeds listed here just lame know in the forum or via pm. you'll have to make an account to post or send pms though.
ENJOY!
